Komori Taiwan Scores Success at TIGAX 2024 Graphic Arts Exhibition

Taipei, Taiwan | Thursday, October 3 to Sunday, October 6, 2024

20 November 2024

The Taipei International Graphic Arts Exhibition (TIGAX) was held at the Taipei World Trade Center from October 3 to 6, 2024. Komori introduced a range of products and secured orders for both presses and systems.

Printing factories in the Taiwan market have recently begun to take advantage of the cloud to connect commands that can automatically handle diverse jobs. This does not require great manpower on the operation site and yet enables printing, processing, and production to be performed efficiently.

In the current period of an aging population and low birth rates, the advanced age of manpower and the shortage of young workers are the major difficulties in operating a printing factory. Labor-saving and smart production are the principal approaches to solving these problems. In addition, with the emphasis on environmentally friendly issues and the low carbon requirements of print buyers, how to consistently execute labor and energy-saving during production is a major issue for printing factories.

Even though a typhoon made landfall on the first day of the show, some decision makers were still able to visit the exhibition.

To respond to Komori's Drupa 2024 theme of Connected Automation and the concept of creating a smart factory, Komori Taiwan participated in the TIGAX 2024 exhibition with the theme of Energy Saving. With the recent increase in electricity prices in Taiwan, energy-saving products became a major topic at the show.

Komori Taiwan is well aware of the problems that printing factories are facing. Therefore, we carefully prepared the show content as shown below.

KP-Connect: The system developed by Komori that can improve printing processes to solve the manpower shortage in printing factories. A questionnaire was developed to determine the need for KP-Connect in the Taiwan market, and the very good response showed that customers need this system.

Introducing KP-Connect Basic to group visitors

Two monitors were arranged to display videos all day. The main monitor behind the reception area showed the Komori Corporate video, Komori's Environmental Initiatives video, and a video explaining the energy-saving air conditioning system and the LED drying system. A monitor in the KP-Connect area introduced KP-Connect Basic and KP-Connect users.

Targets and results

Komori Taiwan set high targets for the exhibition and the results exceeded these targets. Orders were received for two five-color Lithrone G40 advance offset presses and one set of KP-Connect Smart Factory Middleware.
